University of Bradford summer graduations 2024
Over the next four days, more than 1,700 students will graduate from the University of Bradford.
Starting today (Monday July 15), there will be 11 ceremonies for graduands from each of the university’s four faculties: Life Sciences, Health Studies, Management, Law and Social Sciences and Engineering and Digital Technologies.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Shirley Congdon, pictured above, said: “Graduates of this university can and should be proud of their achievements. They can be proud of the fact we have been ranked first on the Social Mobility Index for the last three years, that our research impact is rated as excellent and world leading, and that we offer career support up to five years after graduation.
“We are a forward-looking university with world-leading expertise AI, space satellite technology, engineering, archaeology, dementia care, business, the allied health professions and more. Our vision is to be the place to be to make a difference, so I encourage all those who are graduating to seize the moment, to take every opportunity, to grow and realise their own potential and to make their own difference.”
In June, the latest figures from the Higher Education Statistics Agency showed 78% of UK undergraduates successfully entered employment 15 months after graduation, with 76% of those taking up high-skilled roles (compared to 71 per cent nationally).
The latest International Student Barometer, published in April 2024, which draws on responses from 122,000 students worldwide, ranks the university 2nd for its finance office, 4th for employment and careers service and 5th for welcome, alumni networks, counselling and visa advice.
The university has also been ranked 1sts on the Higher Education Policy Institute’s Social Mobility Index in 2021, 2022 and 2023, meaning we do more than any other English university to improve people’s life chances.
