Clearing is part of the UCAS application system and it runs from July 5 through to October 21.

It is an opportunity for prospective students to find a place at university or college and applies to a wide range of people, from students who may already have results from the previous year to those who have changed their mind about a course or who have not received the grades they expected (whether those are lower or higher).

It is especially useful for those who want to reconsider their options after they receive their A-level results.

Claire Pryke, Associate Director Outreach, Recruitment and Admissions at the University of Bradford, said: “It’s important to remember that there are lots of different ways people might come through Clearing. Some people change their mind about what they want to study, or where they want to be.

“For some people, this might be the first time they are considering University. Circumstances can change and Clearing is a great way to find out about your options.”

Clearing Priority Pass

The University of Bradford is holding an exclusive Priority Pass for those looking to go through Clearing. Those who register will have access to a virtual Clearing hub and a dedicated phone line.

Parents and carers who sign up will receive regular emails linking to blogs and podcasts to help them to understand the benefits of Clearing in the lead-up to results day on Thursday 15 August.

Claire Pryke, Associate Director Outreach, Recruitment and Admissions at the University of Bradford, said: “Clearing might feel daunting, but it doesn’t need to. That’s why we’re making sure that students can receive extra information and support through our Priority Pass.

“We’re also providing all the information parents, teachers and carers might need to understand and support students through the Clearing process.”
