There's huge scope in health care for visual image data processing. By speeding up analysis of 3D scan and image data, we're helping the medical profession take great strides towards efficient measurement, diagnostics and patient care.
Industry expertise
Companies work with us in a number of ways, from research and development and consultancy to bespoke software development and digital content creation. Some research projects have even resulted in spin-off companies.
We understand what our industry partners are looking for and address their core requirements while bringing academic excellence and fresh thinking to every project. Browse the industries we work with most and supporting examples below.
The combination of 3D scanning, real-time analysis of moving images and artificial intelligence can provide the security industry with exciting new technologies. Browse the case studies below to see how we're using visual computing to develop breakthrough applications such as face recognition.
We are a world-leader in the analysis of satellite images, particularly for space-weather applications. We already have successful collaborations with key industry partners in NASA and ESA, and are applying our techniques in a growing number of areas.
Visual computing has a natural partner in the visual media.
This is one of our main research fields. By modelling 3D images and developing real-time networked applications for design collaboration, we're helping commercial partners solve everyday design problems (and even saving CO2 along the way…).
