Develop your knowledge of fundamental academic sciences as well as honing your clinical and practical skills.

On completion of the programme, you’ll be ready to embark on the year’s pre-registration training required to become a registered optometrist. Or study our new, four-year Master of Optometry MOptom (Hons) course to register immediately as a fully-qualified optometrist on graduation.

Where Optometry can take you

Our course is accredited by the General Optical Council, meaning that students can immediately progress into specialist roles after graduation. Graduates are able to work in a variety of settings, including hospitals and high street opticians.

Our facilities

In our Ocular Health Room, you'll learn from optometrists with broad experience in optometric practice and teaching. Staff are actively involved in academic research, which you may become involved with in your final year.
