Biography

Majid Aminzare is an Associate Professor inAccounting at the University Of Bradford School Of Management. He is a fellowof HEA (Higher Education Academy) and a member of the Accounting, Finance andEconomics research centre at the School of Management. Majid is a member of ICB(Institute Of Certified Bookkeeper) and has a certificate of competency inBusiness Taxation and Accounting Principles from ATT (The Association of TaxTechnicians) one of the world’s leading professional bodies in the taxprofession. He has a certificate for the fundamental level from ACCA (TheAssociation of Chartered Certified Accountants), and since joining the academiain 2010 has been nominated more than 7 times by the students through thestudents led teaching awards for ‘Inspirational Teaching Award’, ‘Lecturer ofthe Year Award’ and ‘Innovative Teaching Award’.He earned his BSc in Business Economicsfrom the University of Tehran, and MSc in Banking Management from IranianBanking Higher Education. He has been awarded the Postgraduates Certificate from the University of Bradford -School of Management in June 2021.

He is a qualified accountant with over 25 years ofexperience providing tax and accounting services to businesses and individualsboth in UK and overseas. He worked as a Financial Analyst at MelliBank PLC in the city of London and has also been the Head of Finance for two UKbased companies. Majid also worked as a Contract Client Manager at CalcuttMatthews, one of Kent’s leading Chartered Accountancy firms, before joining theacademia in 2010.With 14 years of industrial experiencein using Sage Line 50 Accounts and Payroll, he has been able to gain allrelevant certificates from Sage. This has enabled him to organise and runworkshops on Sage Line 50 Accounts and Payroll for accounting and finance studentssince 2010 and recently for the directors and managers of the local businessesthrough Bradford University Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN). This was avaluable contribution as it provided students with relevant skills andpractical experience, which lead to higher employability amongst those studentsattending the workshops. Teaching highlights

I am an Associate Professor in Accounting at university ofBradford- School of Management, I currently lead three undergraduate modules inFinancial Accounting, Management Accounting and Taxation. Prior to taking up myposition at University of Bradford I was a Lecturer in Accounting, Financial Management, Accounting Information System and Taxation at Brunel University- Business School.

Before joining the academia in2010, I had over 20 years’ industrial experience in the areas of accounting,finance, banking and taxation.

As a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, I havedemonstrated my ability to maintain a high standard of teaching skills based onthe UKPSF (UK Professional Standard Framework). This has been furtherevidenced by several nominations for teaching, learning and students’ supportwhile at Brunel University London – see below.
