The University is delighted to be able to offer a scholarship that will support women where they are most underrepresented.
The Rani Scholarship is built from Anita’s passion and personal experience of how higher education can change the trajectory of women’s lives.
The scholarship will support four female students each year, who are facing disadvantage, to study and succeed at university in subjects and industries where they are most underrepresented.
Eligible courses listed below are where female students currently make up less than 25% of the cohort.
There are four scholarships available:
- Two to be awarded to home students
- Two to be awarded to international students

Eligibility
Home Students must:
- Identify as a female
- Have an unconditional/conditional offer on one of the above courses
- Meet one of the hardship criteria outlined in the application form - these are:
- Refugee and asylum seeker
- Care leaver
- Disabled
- Low participation background as defined by polar4 quintile 1 and 2
- Socio-economic disadvantage
- Reside at a Bradford postcode
International Students must:
- Identify as a female

Payment amount & frequency
International students will receive a 50% discount on their tuition fees.
Home students will be paid a yearly stipend of £6,930, increasing by 5% each year.
