The Back to Bradford event, held over three days in July, included a welcome meal at Bradford’s Great Victoria Hotel, trips to nearby beauty spots, Saltaire and Haworth, and a tour of campus.

The visitors, some of whom brought family members with them, also had the chance to see where they had their lectures at the old Emm Lane campus and spoke to current School of Management staff in the Bright building.

Xiang Li, who graduated in 2014 in International Business and Management, said:

“My favourite part was the opportunity to talk to the lecturers, the Deans and even the Vice-Chancellor of the University. It has refreshed our memories of our student experiences.”

Wenqin Guo studied Accounting and Finance and graduated in 2016. She said:

“I think it’s a valuable opportunity to be back here, you can’t find this kind of opportunity often. It’s good to be back and see the changes in the city and the University."

It was also a particularly special trip for Rui Jia, who graduated with a degree in Business and Management in 2005, carried out her Master’s in International Business and Management in 2008 and now works as a Marketing and Admission Officer for the University’s China office.

She said:

“It’s a very good experience to be back in Bradford. It just reminds me of a whole, wonderful experience when I studied and lived in Bradford as a student.

“This time, as an alumni and a member of staff at the University, it is a difference experience. I love this environment and it brings all my memories back.”
