Published:

The University of Bradford has moved up the overall Complete University Guide rankings by 11 places to 74 out of 130 institutions.

Student Satisfaction is the University’s most improved area with a rise of 43 places to 56.

The University now has four subject areas in the top ten nationally, up from two last year, including Forensic Science (ranked 5), Optometry, Ophthalmic and Orthoptics (6), Paramedic Science (7) and Physiotherapy (8).

Counselling, Psychotherapy and Occupational Therapy, and Medical Technology and Bioengineering are the additional two subjects in the top twenty, at 14 and 19 respectively.

Bradford has improved in the rankings in six measures, including Student Satisfaction, Research Intensity, Entry Standards, Graduate Prospects - on track, Degree Completion and Student-Staff Ratio.

Research Intensity saw the second highest improvement, up 40 places to 51.  The positive outcome in the Research intensity measure resulted from the University submitting a much higher proportion of staff to the REF 2021 exercise.

The University performed well on Entry Standards, which uses the average UCAS tariff score of new students entering the University.

Graduate Prospects – on track is the University’s strongest performing measure, ranked 33 nationally. This indicator is a measure of whether recent graduates agree that their current activity fits with their future.

The Degree Completion measure has seen improvements in score moving up 28 places in this year’s rankings to 44.

Bradford has improved its overall performance in this year’s Yorkshire and the Humber regional rankings, making the second biggest improvement, and remains at 7 in the regional table.
