MBA graduate Bernd Van Linder appointed as the new Chief Executive of CBD

Bradford graduate Dr Bernd Van Linder, MBA 2001, has been appointed as the new CEO of Commercial Bank Dubai.

Bernd, who will take up his new position in early 2017, built his career at ABN AMRO in the Netherlands before moving to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region where he was General Manager Treasury of Saudi Hollandi Bank before becoming CEO of the same bank in 2009.

He has a wealth of experience in retail, commercial and corporate banking and an excellent track-record in treasury, risk management and in leading strategic change processes.

Bernd holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Utrecht, Netherlands, and graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree in Financial Management from the University of Bradford School of Management in 2001.

Speaking on the news of his appointment Bernd said "I will endeavour especially to drive forward CBD’s growth strategy through expanding its banking services and improving the customer experience”
