Commenting on his appointment, University of Bradford Vice-Chancellor, Professor Brian Cantor, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to attract someone of Bill’s calibre to this important role within the University. He brings with him a strong track record of strategic leadership of both regional and national government bodies and agencies. I look forward to working with him as we build Bradford’s position as a leading technology university.”

Bill McCarthy said: “I am excited to be joining Bradford, having previously worked successfully with universities in a personal and professional capacity: as a commissioner of research; as a collaborator in education and innovation; and as a lay member of Council at the University of York. I look forward to utilising my expertise and experience at an important time of change for the University.”
