Dementia Care Trainer Lindsey Collins to present at Advancing Dysphagia Practice event

Lindsey Collins, Dementia Care Trainer at Bradford Dementia Group, is to present at Advancing Dysphagia Practice, being held at the University of Central Lancashire on Thursday 8th May 2014, 10am to 4.15pm.

This multi-professional CPD event is entitled ‘Is patient experience paramount? Managing complexity in dysphagia – inter-professional perspectives’.

The topic of Lindsey’s presentation is ‘Eating and drinking in care homes – what are the challenges for people living with dementia’, and will explore some of the challenges that face individuals who are living with dementia in a residential care environment and who experience eating and drinking difficulties.

The session will look at some ways in which SLTs can help to address these challenges and support people living with dementia in care environments to eat and drink safely whilst also addressing their quality of life needs.
