Below you will find the tuition fees for previous years of entry.

September 2022 - August 2023

For students starting in 2022 fees will be fixed for the duration of the course (subject to a maximum number of years).

Transfer to writing up fees

This change takes effect for students who registered on, or after, 1 October 2016.

Note that we apply a reduced fee when you have formally transferred to the stage of your studies when you are writing up your thesis. This is after a minimum of three years for full-time students and a minimum of four years for part-time students. Transfer to writing up status is not automatic. Your faculty will be asked to confirm that you have completed any experimentation or data collection and are drafting your final thesis.  

Following transfer to writing up full-time students, and part-time students at the point of transfer, will be charged as follows:

Students who are required to undertake major corrections, which involve a further re-examination of the thesis, will be charged a one-off fee (currently £500) during the following 12-month period.

Please note, the 15% Alumni Discount is not applicable to the writing up fee.

This fee is also not reduced if you submit your thesis earlier.

September 2018 - August 2019

Payment of fees by members of staff

Full-time members of staff and those part-time, honorary and visiting staff holding appointments approved by resolution of Council are exempt from payment of tuition fees if registered for a qualification of the University.  Where a candidate ceases to hold any such appointment it will be necessary to charge the appropriate tuition fee from the date on which the person concerned ceased to be employed by the University.

A submission fee is payable by members of staff as follows:

Students who are required to undertake major corrections, which involves a further re-examination of the thesis, will be charged a one off fee of £500 during this twelve month period. Please note, the 15% Alumni discount is not applicable to the writing up fee.

**Sandwich course fees - charged during the placement year away from the University of Bradford for students on thick sandwich courses, or during the year in which the second placement falls for students on thin sandwich courses.

*** If a placement year is to be undertaken abroad and supported by University funding through the University’s exchange programmes, fees will increase to £1385 (15% of standard fees) to cover additional support, advice and administration costs.

**** Students wishing to do a University Diploma as part of the placement year will be charged an additional £900 in addition to the standard placement fee
