Why did I join the Innovation and skills advisory board?
Since starting my career in the Space industry I have lived and worked in Europe, the US and the UK. It is a truly worldwide industry that offers unrivalled opportunities to work with talented people on challenging projects. I am keen to offer people the same opportunities I have had and passionate about promoting the Space industry in the UK. It is set to see unprecedented growth in the coming years, we need home grown talent to fuel that growth. The Bradford-Renduchintala Centre for Space AI will directly contribute to that talent stream, offering a chance for post graduate students to study for a Masters Degree in Satellite Engineering with a strong relevance to the needs of industry.
I joined the ISAB as I am keen to support the centre to help establish and maintain close links to the Space Industry in the UK, to ensure that students will have opportunities to work on projects in the UK Space sector and to ensure that the centre is recognized as a world class, relevant and well-connected centre for study and research within the UK Space industry and beyond.
What can I offer to the Centre?
- Guidance on trends and insights into the latest developments within the Commercial Space sector
- Collaboration opportunities within the Space directorate of Airbus Defence and Space, the largest single company in the Space Industry in the UK
- Expert support from industry leaders to provide study material, lectures and project opportunities
- Internship, study and potentially employment opportunities within the Telecoms division of Airbus Defence and Space in the UK
