Why did I join the Innovation and skills advisory board?
I choose engineering following a degree in economics, and after a few years studying semiconductors and gaining a PhD in microelectronics, my interests turned towards medical applications during my Marie Curie Fellowship in Belfast. I joined Bradford in 2010 as part of the prestigious Polymer IRC group. There I was able to apply and enhance my hybrid engineering and business skills. Seeing our research transform into real life applications give me high satisfaction and the motivation to continue to dedicate my professional life to saving and improving the quality of lives, reduce environmental impact and build for long term.
What can I offer to the Centre?
My role at the University involves facilitating academic interaction with government and industrial funding bodies, resulting in high quality proposals and projects. I promote the University’s mission to provide quality education with a high impact on industry, and the country's economy. My skills are varied – from business development, project management, high quality research (e.g. materials, flexible conductors, surface characterisation, biomedical engineering) to mentoring and teaching.
