Completely free and open to everyone, these post-screening talks take place in the Museum's Pictureville Bar once a month.
Recent talks include:
Tuesday 14 March 2017 - The Love Witch
University of Bradford postgraduate student Chian Gatewood talked about The Love Witch. This hilariously odd feminist opus adopts the tone of campy 60s/70s horror to explore the sensuous exploits of an ultimate femme fatale, a witch capable of seducing and murdering men through magic. "But is she the villain or the real victim?" Gatewood wonders. This will be the opening question of the post-screening debate
Tuesday 18 April 2017 - The work of Kenneth Anger
Senior Lecturer in Fim and Media, at The University of Bradford, Dr. Mark Goodall, will be discussing the work of underground filmmaker Kenneth Anger after the Discover Tuesdays presentation on 18 April.
"Anger's short films are remarkable in their visual style, controversial subject matter and use of music and sound," Dr Goodall says. "They offer an alternative perspective on the decadence of American post-war culture and at the same time point the way towards the media world of now, where lived experience is backed by a constant, sometimes thrilling soundtrack."
