Cyber Security Interdisciplinary Centre industry expertise
We work with businesses every day to help them grow and improve.
We are well aware that, in this fast and ever-changing world, meeting the needs of the legislators, growing your business, and providing the best possible customer service is a constant challenge.
Our industry partnerships span 50 years and as a technology University, digital innovation is at the forefront of most of our research.
In 2016 the UK government released a new National Cyber Security Strategy on how the UK aims to be one of the most secure places in the world to do business in cyberspace and is investing £1.9b to make it happen.
Most organisations recognise that cyber security needs to be a high priority, with 25% of organisations experiencing a breach at least once a month and 85% of organisations having suffered a phishing attach, but there is still a lack of action.
This National Strategy will push change in the digital landscape of all UK businesses, so it's good you're looking to tackle this now.
Although we understand the cyber security challenges organisations face, we don’t make any assumptions about what yours are.
We listen to your needs and develop a proposal tailored around those conversations using our core services:
As part of the government's new strategy, they have developed a useful website of resources and an assessment tool.
Cyber security and ethical hacker training
Keeping yourself and your staff updated on the threats surrounding your organisation and how to reduce the risk of a data breach is key to developing confidence in your customers and could save you thousands. According to a government report, the average cost of one security breach to a large business is £36,500 with some cases reaching millions. However, less than 38% of medium to small firms have had some form of cyber training.
We offer bespoke cyber security training designed around your needs to the world standard of ISO 27001.
The University of Bradford is the only University in the World to offer ISO 27001 certified Lead Implementer Training and the only University combining this with Ethical Hacker Training.
Being trained by us means you can have the confidence that your training will be delivered by cyber security experts with years of research under their belts, that it will cover the nine key steps involved in planning, implementing and maintaining an ISO 27001-compliant information security management system (ISMS), and combined with ethical hacker training, can teach you the skills to monitor how secure your systems really are.
Our ISO 27001 Lead Auditor Training is Certified by the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB).
