Were you always interested in attending university?

Yes, I always intended to go to university, as I knew where my interests lay and wanted to continue studying within the field of games design.

Why did you choose the University of Bradford?

The campus had a great welcoming feel. During my visit I also attended a workshop related to my course (games design) and thought the lecturer was great! From this, I knew Bradford was a key contender and to top it off they offered me an unconditional offer, which was the best offer I received.

Can you tell me about your work experience?

I am working with different social media platforms and the website to make the brand message more consistent. Previous personal design skills have helped me with this role

I’ve also had the opportunity to get involved with a 3-day fundraising event, involving multiple charities. I helped promote the event and took part which involved Dragonboat racing though Shipley canal – a great day!

I’ve also attended board and national meetings. This has helped raise my profile and understand how to develop and conduct myself.

What the application process was like?

Easy, guided and straight forward.

Look for opportunities that are related to your interests. This will help in knowing how to conduct yourself for future opportunities and decide where your interests lie within your field.

Did you face any challenges in your career journey so far?

Trying to figure out what I specifically wanted to do as there are different skills for different roles, so I needed narrow it down. Gaining experience has helped me do this.

Why do you think it is important to get work experience during university?

It helps with knowing what skills are important and needed in a practical situation. Something you don’t necessarily get from lectures.

What advice would you give our current students and graduates based on your experiences?

Look for opportunities that are related to your interests. This will help in knowing how to conduct yourself for future opportunities and decide where your interests lie within your field.
