Exposure to working on live professional broadcasts, including BBC Children in Need and BBC Election Specials, and work placements at BBC Look North has provided fantastic opportunities for students.

This experience has been a stepping-stone for many Film and Television graduates into the world of work, including employment at the BBC following on from their degree at Bradford.

I loved being there! I had a go at everything, from ingesting media, vision mixing, directing, sound mixing and editing, to designing graphics and going out with the reporters and camera operators covering stories. I’m very interested in broadcasting technology and engineering so I got to explore the apparatus room where the engineering team work. It was fascinating to understand all the equipment needed to run the entire of the BBC Leeds building.
