International Health Management

The MSc in International Health Management is delivered both at the University of Bradford and at Dubai Knowledge Village.
The programme focuses on developing knowledge and critical understanding of the structure, organisation and sustainability of health systems internationally. It provides opportunities for multi-disciplinary learning with managers from a variety of international backgrounds.
The teaching and learning methods used in this programme include lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials, case studies featuring national and international examples, and use of a virtual learning environment. Individual tutorials will also be held either face-to-face with students, via the phone or internet.
In order to meet the learning outcomes of the programme, assessments require students to integrate theory and apply this to a consideration of health management practice internationally. Assessment methods consist of written assignments, presentations and a management project.
The Management Project module includes compulsory taught sessions and working with a supervisor from the tutorial team, on an individual tutorial basis, over a period normally between 3 to 6 months. The project will be based on a management opportunity or challenge from the student’s current or future workplace.

- Normally hold a first degree or equivalent professional qualification. However, applicants who do not possess this qualification, but have appropriate work experience may also be considered
English language requirements:
IELTS at 6.5 or the equivalent.

Career support and prospects
The University is committed to helping students develop and enhance employability and this is an integral part of many programmes. Specialist support is available throughout the course from Career and Employability Services including help to find part-time work while studying, placements, vacation work and graduate vacancies. Students are encouraged to access this support at an early stage and to use the extensive resources on the Careers website.
Discussing options with specialist advisers helps to clarify plans through exploring options and refining skills of job-hunting. In most of our programmes there is direct input by Career Development Advisers into the curriculum or through specially arranged workshops.

Self-funded participants receive a 5% discount if the application is received by the 31 May (for September starts) and 31 October (for February starts).

Funding for eligible staff within the region will be reviewed by Health Education England (HEE) in the coming months for the 2017/18 academic year. We advise all applicants to apply as normal for 2017/18 courses and further information will be provided as soon as it is available.
Students applying to study a Specialist Skills and Post Registration Development (SSPRD) module or programme, and who work for an approved provider in the Yorkshire and Humber region, may be able to access funding through Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber Contract for the cost of their course fees. This funding is subject to availability.
Students who wish to apply for the above funding will need to provide a funding letter from their employer (on a letterhead) confirming their employment in that organisation and that their employer supports their studies.
