To enable students to develop and critically appraise identified competencies of the role of Advanced
Practitioner or to support the delivery of care in extended roles for example Clinical Specialist or Consultant
posts.
To extend the student's knowledge base (through self-directed study and collaboration with a clinical supervisor) to an advanced level within a specific area of work.
To enable the student to develop and apply advanced decision-making skills, negotiate care and management
alongside senior members of the multidisciplinary care team.
